Morgan Lewis partner Roger Joseph spoke with Fund Directions for an article about the interdisciplinary makeup of boards. In the piece, he noted, “My experience has been that [academics] have been some of the best independent directors that I’ve dealt with – they do their homework, they’re thoughtful, they have a level of intellectual curiosity, so they ask good questions – and often bring macroeconomic or governance perspectives that may add to the mix that is already on the board.”
