WASHINGTON, DC, October 30, 2020: Firm Chair Jami McKeon was recognized as an Innovative Leader by Corporate Counsel as part of its 2020 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards. The Innovative Leader award is given to women who are change-makers in their field, and who develop new strategies and solutions to problems. Ms. McKeon was honored for her work spearheading the firm’s strategic expansions in Asia and Europe; promoting gender parity in the legal profession; and, most recently, for establishing our Mobilizing for Equality Task Force.
Since becoming Firm Chair in 2014 and being elected to a second term in 2019, Ms. McKeon’s work to increase the diversity of the firm’s leadership positions has made her stand out as an innovative leader. Focusing on inclusion of all members of the Morgan Lewis community, her appointees include dozens of women and diverse lawyers as practice group and industry sector leaders, office managing partners, and elected advisory board and compensation committee members. Under Ms. McKeon’s leadership, the firm has established its ML Well program to promote lawyer and staff well-being. Ms. McKeon also oversaw the formation of the firm’s ML Women initiative in 2015 to provide career advancement opportunities for women.
Ms. McKeon and the other honorees were recognized at a virtual awards ceremony on October 28.
