Attorneys Advise Employers to Review Hiring, Compensation Practices with New Regulations, Chicago Daily Law Bulletin

Morgan Lewis partner Jonathan Lotsoff was quoted in a Chicago Daily Law Bulletin article discussing a new Illinois employment rule that limits employers’ use of conviction records in making employment decisions. According to the article, the law means that employers in the state of Illinois cannot disqualify applicants for jobs because of previous criminal convictions. Jonathan advises that companies look at the requirements of the new law now so they can get a “headstart” if changes need to be made.
