Partner Stephen Altieri spoke with Life Sciences Leader about why South Korea is becoming an increasingly attractive market for pharmaceutical companies in the United States, noting a recent ruling by the Supreme Court of South Korea that makes it easier for data or clinical studies produced after the initial patent filing to support the selection invention.
“This decision puts Korea more in line with the Big Biotech markets in Europe,” Stephen said. “It means that innovative companies are more likely to win patent protection in Korea, and there will be more companies willing to do business there.”
