With inflows into exchange-traded funds (ETFs) worldwide crossing the $1 trillion mark for the first time in November, Mutual Fund Directors Forum cites the latest issue of Morgan Lewis’s ETF Roundup as a guide to the recent legal and regulatory developments impacting the industry.
In the report—which includes insights on topics such as crypto assets in ETFs, recent related tax regulations, and conversions of mutual funds—firm lawyers write that “sponsors that wish to convert their existing mutual funds into ETFs should take into account operational and structural challenges, which the SEC has focused on in their review of such proposed conversions.”
