Civil Rights Advocates File Federal Lawsuit over Mississippi’s Racially Gerrymandered Maps, ACLU Press Release

Morgan Lewis was named in a press release issued by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) regarding a federal lawsuit filed by the ACLU, the ACLU of Mississippi, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the Mississippi Center for Justice, and civil rights lawyer Carroll Rhodes on behalf of the Mississippi State Conference of the NAACP and voters from across Mississippi. The lawsuit challenges Mississippi’s 2022 state legislative district maps for unlawfully diluting the voting strength of Black Mississippians.

Morgan Lewis is serving as pro bono co-counsel to the Mississippi State Conference NAACP. The Morgan Lewis team includes partner John Lavelle and associates James Nortey and Drew Jordan.
