Partner John Ring spoke with HR Magazine about his time as chairman and member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and what to expect from the agency in 2023. In the Q&A, John said the NLRB proposed several changes that would impact businesses—including changes to the joint employer standard, the definition of independent contractor, and the agency’s approach to employer handbook rules and investigation confidentiality.
“As all these issues suggest, we should expect a lot of activity from the NLRB in the coming year,” John said.
“If not already doing so, businesses need to pay close attention to what the NLRB is doing.”
