LONDON and DUBAI, August 15, 2023: In its 2023 legal survey, AirFinance Journal has ranked Morgan Lewis in the top spot for the number of aviation finance transactions completed in Africa over the last year.
The publication’s annual survey of the most active law firms by transaction type and region is based on aggregation of aviation finance matters submitted by law firms and those in AirFinance Journal’s deal tracker database. The survey of transactions for calendar year 2022 showed an uptick in eligible transactions in Africa, with 49 deals recorded, up from 35 in 2021.
“Africa continues to be a dynamic market with immense potential and growing demand, for both cargo and passenger airlines,” Morgan Lewis partner Sidanth Rajagopal said in the survey report. “The resurgence of a couple of airlines remains the main focus of the lessor community.”
