Partner Christine Schleppegrell spoke with FundFire about the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC’s) proposed private fund disclosure rule, which would prohibit certain practices and add manager disclosure and reporting requirements. The commission is scheduled to adopt a final rule in October, and until that time, it is unclear whether any changes to the proposal will be made, she noted.
“It’s still very much up in the air,” Christine said.
“It depends on how the SEC looks at the comment letters and the engagement it has with the industry.”
