February 01, 2024

MUNICH, February 1, 2024: Expanding its leading global labor and employment practice by adding to its ranks in Germany, Morgan Lewis today welcomes partner Dr. Philipp Schäuble to its Munich office. Arriving from McDermott, Philipp will advise businesses on a range of individual and collective employment-related litigation and counseling matters.

“We continue to focus on connecting our global service offerings and support to clients doing business in Europe with Philipp’s addition to our Munich team,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Businesses of all stripes rely on us for guidance on critical bottom-line issues that are often cross-border and cross-practice, and often stem from employment-related matters or at least touch on employment law aspects, such as in the context of transactions. Philipp’s command of these issues, along with his specific background in the life sciences, financial services, and automotive industry, will be an added resource for our clients.”

Philipp advises German and international companies on both individual and collective employment law matters, with a particular focus on remuneration systems, company pensions, restructurings, and employment law aspects related to public-private partnerships. He also advises on employment matters tied to mergers and acquisitions. Philipp frequently works with clients in the life sciences, automotive, financial, and publishing industries.

“We are thrilled to welcome Philipp, whose arrival aligns with our strategic goal to grow our presence in Germany and expand the reach of our labor and employment practice to serve clients’ legal needs,” said Grace Speights, leader of the firm’s global labor and employment practice. “He is a strong fit to help serve clients in various court proceedings and those clients in need of guidance on employment-related matters in connection with transactions, group reorganizations, and restructurings.”

“Having close connections to and a deep understanding of the German business community, Philipp will be an asset as our firm continues to expand our presence in the country,” said Dr. Florian Harder, managing partner of the firm’s Munich office. “We appreciate Philipp’s dedication to working collaboratively with colleagues locally and around the globe and look forward to welcoming him.”
