MUNICH, April 4, 2024: Continuing to expand in Germany, Morgan Lewis will welcome Daja Apetz-Dreier as a litigation partner resident in Munich. Daja served as managing partner of Reed Smith’s Munich office, where she has been a member of its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practice. At Morgan Lewis, she will continue her broad commercial litigation, financial services disputes, and international arbitration practice.

“Continuing to build our legal services offering in Germany with a well-regarded and well-rounded business disputes litigator and arbitrator, Daja will have immediate impact on our ability to serve our clients in one of the EU’s most significant commercial markets,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Daja also brings strong relevant experience in our key industry sectors in Germany, including fintech, life sciences, energy, insurance, and healthcare.”

For more than 10 years Daja has represented global and German domestic clients in cross-border, complex disputes. She also frequently advises companies in the green energy sector. Trilingual, Daja speaks German, English, and French.

“Daja has represented clients across numerous industries in complex cross-border disputes and has a keen understanding of impactful litigation strategy,” said J. Gordon Cooney, Jr., leader of the firm’s global litigation practice. “Her M&A litigation experience and contentious ESG-related know-how in particular will be a valuable service to our clients in Germany and across our global platform.”

“Expanding our global disputes practices to Munich with Daja’s broad contentious background will position us to guide an array of companies, including those headquartered in or those who are dealing with counterparties in Europe,” said Dr. Florian Harder, managing partner of the firm’s Munich office. “It is an exciting time of dynamic growth for our Germany practice.”

Daja’s arrival will build on that of employment partner Dr. Philipp Schäuble who joined the firm in Munich in February, and corporate partners Dr. Hans ‘Peter’ Leube and Marianne Nawroth who joined the firm’s Frankfurt office in December 2023.
