Partner Matthew Howse spoke with International Employment Lawyer about the new ways the UK government is attempting to incentivise whistleblowers as part of a wide-ranging review and reform of existing anti-fraud legislation.
“In highly regulated industries, incentivising whistleblowers might cut across or misalign with a regulated entity’s regulatory obligations. Accordingly, it remains important that any scheme that rewards whistleblowers is devised to ensure that it dovetails with the existing whistleblower legislation and regulatory landscape,” Matthew said.
