Partner Leonidas Theodosiou was quoted in a Global Competition Review article discussing IonQ’s acquisition of Oxford Ionics, highlighting potential national security concerns around IP migration, export controls, and retaining talent under the National Security and Investment Act regime.
Leonidas said, “The ISU [UK Government’s Investment Security Unit] will probably look at whether Oxford Ionics’ IP could migrate to the US, become subject to US export controls or otherwise dilute the UK’s ability to ‘own, operate and protect’ the capability at home.”
