Move Over FTC: Private Plaintiffs Take Point in Influencer Marketing Class Actions, Corporate Counsel

Associate Caitlin Zeytoonian spoke with Corporate Counsel about the rise in class actions brought against social media influencers, and the companies that pay them, for failing to disclose their financial ties.

Caiti noted that the growth of the influencer marketing industry is “certainly part of what’s incentivizing the plaintiffs’ bar to bring these cases” but added “whether these cases will stick is really going to depend on the next six to 12 months, because we haven’t seen any of these cases decided on the merits” yet.
