SEC Cross-Border Task Force Emphasizes Deal Due Diligence, Agenda

Partner Carolyn Welshhans spoke with Agenda for an article about the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC’s) new cross-border task force.

Carolyn noted that although the task force will focus on foreign organizations, it should not be dismissed by US companies that operate internationally.

“The cross-border task force announcement is a good opportunity to take a fresh look at those [due diligence] policies and procedures,” Carolyn said. “What are you doing when it comes to your disclosure reviews going up the chain? How are you handling insider trading policies, including for employees who are abroad?”
