Morgan Lewis Chair Jami McKeon Quoted in ABA Journal on Importance of Financial Literacy

November 06, 2025

In a recent ABA Journal article titled “More firms are helping lawyers stress less over money,” Morgan Lewis was highlighted as an early leader in financial wellness for lawyers, launching its program in 2017—well before many firms recognized and prioritized financial literacy as an important part of lawyers’ overall careers.

Ms. McKeon partnered with Adam Murray of Morgan Stanley to create financial plans for rising partners, a program that has since expanded to other groups of associates, including first-year lawyers. In the article, Ms. McKeon notes that “a lot of lawyers are not accountants or investment advisers”—the challenge is helping them manage money wisely from the start of their careers.

Currently, every lawyer at Morgan Lewis must have a financial plan before becoming a partner, making financial education a core part of career development. The financial planning program is now “a fixture in our firm,” said Ms. McKeon. “Everybody understands the importance of financial literacy.”
