Compliance Feels AI’s Pull, but Doesn’t Know Where It Will Lead, Dow Jones Risk Journal

Dow Jones Risk Journal quoted partner Amy Schuh in an article about how compliance teams are increasingly testing and adopting artificial intelligence (AI) amid shifting enforcement expectations.

Amy told the publication that the growing adoption could be due in part to an executive order issued earlier this year pausing foreign bribery enforcement. This may have caused compliance professionals to feel they had breathing room to experiment, including by testing out AI solutions.

“There is a lot of dialogue around, ‘Maybe now is our time to play in the sandbox in a way that we didn’t feel comfortable with because we were in the crosshairs of potential enforcement,’” Amy said, adding, “there may not be negative consequences to getting it wrong right now.”
