FCA’s Plan to Soften Securitisation Rules Set to Boost UK Industry, International Financing Review

International Financing Review quoted partner Merryn Craske in an article examining the Financial Conduct Authority’s and Prudential Regulation Authority’s proposals to simplify the United Kingdom’s securitization regime.

The article outlines the consultation on easing due diligence and transparency requirements, including giving institutional investors greater flexibility and reducing reporting burdens.

Craske noted that the reforms are “going to be seen as very helpful by the market,” emphasizing that the regulators have listened to industry feedback and are moving “from a more prescriptive approach to a more principles-based approach.”
