EPA’s Forever Chemical Rollback Complicates Compliance, Regulatory Lawyers Say, The National Law Journal
May 27, 2026The National Law Journal quoted partner Stephanie Feingold in an article examining the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) proposed changes to federal drinking water standards for certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), including plans to rescind limits for four PFAS compounds and extend compliance deadlines for others.
Stephanie noted that many water systems have already taken steps to comply with the EPA’s 2024 regulations and observed that, for some applications, “it’s not always possible” for companies to completely phase out PFAS, highlighting the practical challenges businesses face as regulatory expectations continue to shift.
