One-Man CFTC Speeds Up Rulemaking on Prediction Markets, Crypto, Bloomberg Law

Bloomberg Law spoke with partner Stacie Hartman about the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC’s) accelerated rulemaking agenda on digital assets and prediction markets under Chairman Michael Selig’s leadership.

The article examines the agency’s rapid push to establish a regulatory framework for digital assets and prediction markets, even as it operates with only one commissioner. Stacie noted that the CFTC has continued to build on earlier efforts to modernize its approach to digital assets, with the current leadership taking additional steps to define the market structure through formal rulemaking. “But Chairman Selig’s administration has gone even further, issuing proposed rulemaking that would help define a market structure for digital assets,” Stacie said.
