Partners Susan Resley and Justin Weitz and associate Michael Hacker authored an article for Law360 regarding a recent agreement between the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and Chinese securities regulators.
The article notes that due to this development, many US exchange-listed companies audited by accounting firms based in mainland China and Hong Kong may be able to continue trading on US exchanges, preserving liquidity for investors and ongoing access to US capital markets.
However, the agreement could lead to an increased enforcement risk through more regulatory inquiries.
