Partner Elizabeth Goldberg and associate William Marx wrote an article for The Temple 10-Q outlining nine key areas the US Department of Labor (DOL) has focused on when conducting retirement plan fiduciary investigations.
Given the DOL’s “active” retirement plan investigatory program, Elizabeth and William suggest that plan fiduciaries may want to consider a compliance self-review based on these focus areas, which include data privacy and cybersecurity and participant claims-and-appeals procedures.
