DUBAI, October 28, 2021: Morgan Lewis was named in International Financial Law Review's (IFLR) Middle East Awards in the M&A Deal of the Year category. The award recognized a deal in which the firm represented alternative investment manager EnTrust Global in the financing provided by EnTrust's Blue Ocean funds for the acquisition of United Arab Chemical Carriers by United Overseas Group. Structured by way of a reverse triangular merger in the Dubai International Financial Centre, IFLR states the winning matter was unprecedented and novel.
IFLR’s Middle East Awards showcase the most legally innovative cross-border transactions from across the Gulf Cooperation Council over the last year, as well as the teams behind the deals. Winners are determined following months of research, drawing on written submissions and interviews with representatives in the market.
The cross-border Morgan Lewis team who advised EnTrust Global included partners Kristen Campana, Bruce Johnston, and Amy Kyle, and associate James Mead. The team was honored at IFLR’s awards event on October 27.
