Karl Horvath
Karl Horvath’s main areas of focus are structured finance, real estate finance, and financial collateral. He has a broad range of experience of structured finance transactions and advises on securitisations across a range of asset classes (including residential mortgages, commercial mortgages, whole businesses, consumer loans, renewable energy, and hire purchase agreements). Karl also advises on CLOs, warehouses and aircraft finance leases, as well as on numerous security structures involving financial collateral.
Karl has experience working on listings of asset-backed debt securities. Many of the transactions on which he advises have a cross-border element.
Karl’s clients include arrangers, investors, lenders, trustees, originators, servicers/special servicers, reinsurers, and account banks. They include traditional financial institutions, alternative capital providers, and insurance and reinsurance companies.

- Acts for a large US fund on purchase and subsequent sale of several aircraft finance leases involving multiple jurisdictions
- Acts for collateral manager on establishment of its first post-crisis CLO
- Represents a US fund investor in various European CLO warehouse financings
- Acts for borrowers on leveraged acquisitions of London properties in City and West End
- Acts for major pharmaceuticals company on leasing of precious metals in multiple jurisdictions
