Levi McAllister spoke with Law360 about how federal support for the adoption of electric vehicles could help California’s plan to phase out sales of new gasoline-powered vehicles by 2035. Levi discussed President Joseph Biden's August 2021 executive order, which set a 2030 target for 50% of all new cars and trucks sold in the United States to be electric or hybrid.
That executive order “really was the first domino, and we've seen so many things happen in the last 13 months [to] speed up this train and this transition from internal combustion engine to electric or clean vehicles,” Levi said.
