Squires Says AI Gets No Special Treatment in Patent Process, Law360

Partner Manita Rawat spoke with Law360 about recent guidance from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) clarifying the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the patent process and reaffirming the USPTO’s stance that AI cannot be named as an inventor.

“It's just really to hit home that message that, ‘Yes, you may be using AI-assisted technology with your developments, but AI is not an inventor. Only humans can be an inventor,’” Manita told the publication.
