Christian Tuddenham represents financial institutions, funds, investors and multinational companies in litigation and arbitration matters, often with cross-border aspects. His practice spans civil fraud, securities litigation, restructuring and insolvency disputes, shareholder conflicts, and asset-tracing matters. He handles proceedings in multiple jurisdictions and has significant experience in emerging and frontier markets, including throughout the Middle East, India, Pakistan, and common law offshore jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Christian was a partner at another international law firm.
- Advised senior banking executives in the defense of a $230 million claim arising from a major overseas acquisition
- Secured judgment of more than $200 million for the liquidators of the Saad Group in the UK Supreme Court in a case that helped define banks’ duties of care
- Acted on the landmark RBS Rights Issue Litigation, advising a senior banking executive in the defense and successful settlement of a £4 billion class action
- Advised directors and stakeholders of a major private equity fund in connection with the collapse of the Abraaj Group, formerly the UAE’s largest private equity house
- Advised on Canadian proceedings arising from a $3.5 billion fraud claim, including related actions in London, Jersey, Guernsey, the British Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands
- Represented a consortium of European banks in a $300 million High Court commodities fraud claim against the banks’ agent
- Advised a Middle Eastern bank on the failure of an international real estate fund
- Advised on multijurisdictional proceedings in the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, and offshore jurisdictions arising from a $420 million fraud against several major banks
