Kerisha Bowen focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution and litigation, post-grant proceedings, trade secret litigation, trademarks, and copyright. Kerisha’s background in organic chemistry informs her technical-based litigation practice. As a scientist and former college assistant professor, Kerisha works effectively with inventors, expert witnesses, and broader litigation teams. She has experience litigating patent infringement and trade secret matters in US federal district courts; representing clients in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board; providing advice on intellectual property management, including during corporate mergers and acquisitions; and conducting freedom to operate analyses.
Kerisha successfully obtained an exemption to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act for a client in the medical equipment repair sector.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Kerisha worked as a researcher for a pharmaceutical company and held assistant professorships and research positions at universities. She also served on the editorial staff of the Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data, a peer-reviewed publication of the American Chemical Society.
Kerisha's postdoctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine focused on the link between cancer and diabetes. Her doctoral research concentrated on the synthesis of nitrogen-based pharmaceutical antiviral agents.
