Richard L. Leung’s practice encompasses all aspects of US and foreign patent prosecution, particularly in the areas of medical devices, biomaterials, particle fabrication, nanotechnology, and mechanical engineering. Richard works closely with clients to identify inventions for patent protection, develop tailored prosecution strategies, and manage patent portfolios. He also has experience conducting freedom-to-operate, validity, and patentability investigations.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Richard was a patent examiner with the US Patent and Trademark Office. He examined patent applications in the mechanical arts relating to cryogenics, refrigeration, fluid handling, and liquefied gas processing. Richard also worked at the National Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins University, where he was involved in several research projects relating to cancer cell biology and cellular mechanics.
