Shawn Lee, Ph.D., focuses his practice on patent prosecution with particular emphasis on mechanical arts. Shawn assists clients with drafting and prosecuting patent applications across a wide range of technologies and disciplines, including, but not limited to, disruptive automotive technologies (hybrid/electric vehicles, autonomous driving, lithium-ion batteries, fuel cell technology, Internet of Things, lighting devices, display devices, etc.), high-integration semiconductors and small-sized electronics, medical devices and imaging, smart devices including mobile devices, sustainable energy systems, computer software, wireless communications and antenna design, optical/laser devices, and consumer products.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Shawn worked as a research engineer at major US and non-US automotive companies. His work in the automotive industry and his doctoral research primarily focused on lithium-ion battery pack systems and the manufacturing processes thereof for hybrid and electric vehicles.
