Environmental Justice and the E in ESG

Join us for a program addressing the Biden Administration’s efforts to promote environmental justice and equity as a key component of its environmental agenda.

Topics will include: 

• Legal tools the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is using and proposes to use to promote environmental justice
• Environmental and socioeconomic demographic tools the EPA is using to identify areas for additional consideration
• Gaps in and challenges presented by the EPA’s current focus

We will also discuss how the Administration’s focus on environmental justice and equity is shaping environmental policy, regulation, permitting, compliance, and enforcement and how it is presenting new challenges for the private sector in managing environmental risks and opportunities. Our lawyers will be joined by guest speaker Gina Waterfield, economist and director at Berkeley Research Group.
