Partner Randall Thomas and of counsel Caroline Waldner will be speaking at UT Law’s 43rd Annual Nonprofit Organizations Institute, a two-day convening of nationally recognized experts from private foundations, charities, law, finance, and government to address the most pressing tax, legislative, and governance issues impacting the nonprofit sector.
Randall’s panel Regulations, Rulings, and Deference: EO Practice in a Post-Loper Bright World will take place Thursday, January 22 at 10:00 am ET and will examine the US Supreme Court’s decision in Loper Bright and its potential impact on federal tax rulemaking and litigation involving exempt organizations. Discuss what the post-Chevron landscape means for statutory interpretation and challenging IRS positions in executive order matters.
Caroline’s panel Fundamental Public Policy and Illegality Doctrine will take place on Friday, January 23rd at 2:50 pm ET.
