AEFR’s Conference on Securitization

Investment management partner Gilles Saint Marc will speak at a seminar organized by the AEFR on March 11 on the theme Securitization: An Indispensable Tool for Financing the European Union?, discussing the pivotal role of securitization in the future of European finance.

As Europe seeks to strengthen the Savings and Investments Union and expand financing for businesses—particularly small and medium-sized enterprises—the speakers will address how a revitalized securitization framework can unlock significant capital for the economy by enhancing banks’ lending capacity and diversifying funding sources.

Drawing on his experience as co-chair of the Paris Europlace Securitisation Working Group, Gilles will share insights into ongoing regulatory reform efforts, including the European Commission’s recent proposals to revise key prudential texts, as part of the broader discussion on balancing market development with financial stability and supporting Europe’s strategic investment priorities.
