Intellectual property partners Natalie Bennett and Matthew Rizzolo will present a program titled An Update on Non-Practicing Entity Litigation Post ‘Settled Expectations’ at the PTAB at the Association of Corporate Patent Counsel’s (ACPC’s) Washington DC Regional Meetup.
Natalie and Matt will provide an update on US Patent and Trademark Office director guidance on discretionary denials of petitions for inter partes review and the impact of such guidance in the district courts and the International Trade Commission. The discussion will rely on both statistical data and anecdotal observations to approach defending cases brought by non-practicing entities, especially campaigns backed by litigation funders.
ACPC is a nonprofit membership association of chief patent and/or intellectual property counsel of businesses operating in the United States. Since 1966, ACPC has provided a trusted, private, member-led forum where in-house intellectual property leaders connect, benchmark, collaborate, and grow—personally and professionally.
