FDA and healthcare regulatory partners Alexander Meier and Bart Jong were guest speakers at HOFFMANN EITLE’s 2026 Life Science IP Seminar in Munich. Alex and Bart, along with moderator Dr. Leonard Werner-Jones, a European patent partner at HOFFMANN EITLE, spoke on a panel reviewing the EU Pharmaceutical Package which represents the most comprehensive reform of EU pharmaceutical legislation in more than two decades.
Participants explored some of the most important developments shaping the life sciences intellectual property landscape, including UPC case law, SPCs and EU pharmaceutical reform, major EPO developments, patent strategy across Europe, enforcement trends, and the impact of AI and biotech.
Held every two years, the seminar brings together over 120 attendees from across Europe for a focused discussion of key developments shaping life sciences intellectual property.
