SAN FRANCISCO, October 1, 2021: Morgan Lewis further expands its high-stakes California employment litigation capabilities with the arrival of Brian Berry, who joins as a partner resident in San Francisco. Previously co-chair of the California class action practice at Ogletree Deakins, Brian advises and defends employers facing complex class and systemic alleged discrimination, misclassification, and wage and hour claims.

“Bringing on a talented and collaborative lawyer such as Brian both strengthens our elite labor and employment team and also provides our clients with a deeper bench of go-to resources on the ground in California as they face complex litigation needs,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon

The arrival of Brian continues the growth story of the Morgan Lewis California labor and employment group, following the addition of Michael Weil, who joined the firm’s San Francisco office from Orrick earlier this summer, and an eight-lawyer team of employment litigators and counselors from Sidley Austin in Los Angeles.

“Between expected COVID-19-related litigation and changing labor and employment laws, many companies find themselves in need of first chair class action litigation experience. Brian’s proven track record of defending employers in and out of the courtroom will be a great complement to the work of our 80-plus team of California labor and employment lawyers,” said Grace Speights, leader of the firm’s labor and employment practice.
