World IP Review Again Recognizes Morgan Lewis in 2025 USA Trade Secrets Guide
January 22, 2026CENTURY CITY, January 22, 2026: World IP Review (WIPR) has once again recognized Morgan Lewis’s trade secrets practice and partner Seth Gerber in its yearly USA Trade Secrets guide, which highlights leading law firms and lawyers at the forefront of trade secrets law in the United States.
For the 2025 guide, WIPR named Morgan Lewis a “highly recommended” law firm for trade secrets matters and recognized Seth as “highly recommended for his individual work.” The firm and Seth were also recognized in the inaugural edition of the guide last year, reflecting Morgan Lewis’s continued strength in an area of law that is increasingly central to competitive business disputes.
Morgan Lewis has a deep bench of trade secrets litigators who represent clients nationwide across a broad range of industries, assisting them in identifying, protecting, and enforcing confidential, proprietary, and trade secret information. The firm’s lawyers prosecute and defend trade secrets matters in state and federal courts and before the US International Trade Commission, with experience spanning both business and highly technical trade secrets. The team has a strong record in injunction proceedings and at trial, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes disputes.
In recognizing Morgan Lewis’s trade secrets capabilities, WIPR commended the following lawyers for their work:
- Seth Gerber, co-leader of Morgan Lewis’s trade secrets practice, is recognized as an accomplished trial lawyer who has defended the second-highest number of trade secret cases in the United States over the last three years, and the most for a California-based lawyer.
- Julie Goldemberg, leader of the firm’s Federal Circuit appeals practice and co-leader of the trade secrets practice, draws on her background in electrical engineering to litigate trade secrets cases and other complex intellectual property (IP) disputes in US federal and state courts, and before the US International Trade Commission.
- Josh Dalton, leader of the firm’s global trademark and copyright litigation practice and head of the Boston IP practice is recommended by a client as an “excellent advisor” on trade secrets matters, providing strategic guidance on complex IP disputes across a range of IP rights.
- Michael Weil, leader of the labor and employment practice in the firm’s Northern California offices, is recognized among the top US lawyers for trade secret work, advising on disputes involving a wide range of confidential information and technical subject matter.
The recognition underscores Morgan Lewis’s cross-disciplinary approach to trade secrets matters, drawing on experience in labor and employment, IP, unfair competition, and related areas to address risks arising from employee mobility, technological innovation, and competitive pressures. The firm continues to invest strategically in its IP platform to support clients facing sophisticated multijurisdictional trade secrets disputes and counseling needs nationwide. In noting the firm’s ongoing growth in this area, WIPR highlighted Morgan Lewis’s addition of three partners in 2025 with trade secrets experience—Ali Razai, Benjamin Everton, and Brandon Smith—as part of its expanding West Coast IP litigation team.
