Canon Notches Another Fed. Circ. Win in Inkjet Patent Fight, Law360
July 21, 2026Morgan Lewis secured another victory for Canon U.S.A. Inc., with partners Julie Goldemberg, Jitsuro Morishita, Amanda Williamson, Jason Gettleman, and Maria Doukas representing the company before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
As reported by Law360, the Federal Circuit affirmed a Patent Trial and Appeal Board decision finding claims of a Slingshot Printing patent covering inkjet printhead technology unpatentable as obvious over prior art. The ruling marks Morgan Lewis's fifth successful Federal Circuit outcome on behalf of Canon in its patent dispute with Slingshot Printing and follows two similar decisions issued just one week earlier affirming the invalidation of claims in three other patents.
