Manita noted that “data centres are becoming an increasingly important IP battleground,” with technologies involving semiconductors, networking, memory and storage, and power and thermal management taking on greater significance.
Discussing increased investor scrutiny, Manita said, “With the growth of AI, questions about technology ownership, efficiency, scalability, freedom to operate, and proprietary IP are becoming much more important. I expect IP diligence to become a much more significant part of investment diligence, particularly as investors look for technology that provides a sustainable competitive advantage.”
