Saudi Privacy Rules Evolve, The Oath

September 15, 2025

In an article published by The Oath, partner Ksenia Andreeva and associate Karolina Lewicki provide an overview of amendments proposed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority to the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).

They note, “The PDPL’s evolution underscores the [Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA’s)] commitment to data protection as a pillar of its digital transformation agency. The authors share key takeaways for organizations active in Saudi Arabia or handling the personal data of Saudi Arabian data subjects to take in preparation for the anticipated changes.
