Ksenia Andreeva specializes in intellectual property (IP) matters. She advises on a wide range of transactional, regulatory, and commercial IP matters as well as disputes and enforcement of IP rights. Ksenia is a registered trademark lawyer and is admitted to represent clients before the Russian Patent and Trademark Office (Rospatent). She also has experience with IP disputes in the Chamber for Patent and Disputes and the Russian commercial courts. Her clients include companies in media, technology, telecommunications, and many other industries.
Ksenia has experience with licensing, franchising, and handling commercial transactions that involve IP, including complex outsourcing matters. She also assists with the IP aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures and advises on personal data protection and related regulatory matters. Recently, she focused on the use and protection of IP in websites and online commerce and on compliance with Russian laws and regulations that govern the Internet.
Ksenia is a member of the Licensing Executives Society of Russia, the Association of European Businesses, and the Chamber of Patent Attorneys. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, she worked in the IP practice of another international law firm in Moscow.
Advised a major pharmaceutical company on trademark and know-how licensing related to a joint venture with its Russian partner to manufacture HIV medicines in Russia.
Advised a Russian corporation on IP issues related to a novel technology for label-free detection of biological samples.
Advised a US software company on the marketing and sales of its proprietary software in Russia.
Advised a British multinational banking and financial services company on the integration of a Russian bank and further opt-out, including drafting and negotiating numerous commercial and IP agreements, and assisted the client in various legal matters, including data protection and the use of encryption software.
Advised a leading European bank on data protection issues arising in connection with an Internet tool used to trade over-the-counter derivatives.
Advised a leading US-based pharmaceutical company on protection of IP, including know-how, in Russia.
Advised a Scandinavian manufacturer on personal data issues, including protection of online customer data in Russia.
Advised a multinational Internet consumer-to-consumer business on personal data protection issues in Russia, including localizing data privacy policies for its platform and services in Russia.
Advised a leading Russian insurance company on IP aspects of its sale to a European buyer, including drafting and negotiating software licensing and copyright assignment agreements.
Developed an innovative licensing model for Russian distributors of a German software developer, including drafting license agreements. Also advised on licensing of encryption tools in Russia, including liaising with Russian state authorities and certification centers.
