Yuqi Li, Ph.D., focuses her practice on drafting, prosecuting, and litigating patents as well as counseling clients on intellectual property (IP) strategies, including patent portfolio management, due diligence reviews, patent landscape searches, patent validity opinions, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Drawing from her academic background in organic synthesis and peptide chemistry alongside industry experience in chemical vapor deposition and semiconductor fabrication, Yuqi advises clients in diverse technology fields including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, small and large molecule therapeutics, pharmaceutical formulations, materials science, chemical synthesis, composite materials, catalysts, and controlled-release drug delivery.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Yuqi was an associate at a large national law firm where she gained patent prosecution and litigation experience in the chemistry, life sciences, and materials science fields. Before becoming a lawyer, Yuqi worked several years as a research scientist and IP technologist at a major specialty chemical company in the semiconductor industry. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy studying polypeptide and hydrogel chemistry as well as stem cell activities in response to hydrogels. Her graduate work focused on synthesizing porphyrin models and copper complexes and studying enzyme reactivities with small molecules.
