Yuqi Li, Ph.D.
Yuqi Li, Ph.D., focuses her practice on drafting, prosecuting, and litigating patents as well as counseling clients on intellectual property (IP) strategies. Yuqi represents clients in patent infringement cases in federal district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Drawing from her industry experience in specialty chemical synthesis, formulation development, CVD/ALD, semiconductor fabrication, and peptide chemistry, Yuqi advises clients in diverse fields including microelectronics, materials science, composite materials, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, small and large molecule therapeutics, pharmaceutical formulations, and controlled-release drug delivery.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Yuqi was an associate at a large national law firm where she gained patent prosecution and litigation experience in the chemistry, life sciences, and materials science fields. Yuqi’s experience includes patent portfolio management, due diligence reviews, patent landscape searches, patent validity opinions, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Before becoming a lawyer, Yuqi worked several years as a research scientist and IP technologist at a major specialty chemical company in the semiconductor industry. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy studying polypeptide and hydrogel chemistry as well as stem cell activities in response to hydrogels. Her graduate work focused on synthesizing porphyrin models and copper complexes and studying enzyme reactivities with small molecules.
