Navigating Europe’s Sustainability Rules: Updates on CSRD, CSDDD & Greenwashing

mercredi 25 mars 2026
05:00 - 06:00 Central European Time
12:00 - 01:00 Eastern Daylight Time

After a period of eager sustainability efforts, Europe is trimming back various of its sustainability legislations. Conversely, litigation endeavors are on the rise, increasingly scrutinizing companies for false or misleading green claims.

Our panelists will provide an update on the status of the EU’s ESG Omnibus and how it will amend the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, the EU Taxonomy Regulation, and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

The panel will also cover the status of the proposed Green Claims Directive and Consumer Empowerment Directive and how greenwashing litigation continues to evolve in Europe. The program will offer tips on compliance and risk management, insights for international companies to comply with ever-evolving and differing sustainability laws, and discussions of how sustainability endeavors can be used as a strategic advantage.

Topics will include:

  • Updates on the EU ESG Omnibus, particularly the main amendments to the scope and obligations under the CSRD and CSDDD and the impact on affected companies
  • Developments in EU and national greenwashing rules, including increased scrutiny of sustainability claims and marketing practices
  • How companies can calibrate regulatory requirements, litigation risk, and private ordering
  • Practical considerations for multinational companies to design global environmental, social, and governance strategies and practices and use them to their advantage
