WASHINGTON, D.C., June 30, 2014: Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment team in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office was named The National Law Journal’s 2014 Labor & Employment Litigation Department of the Year in the Washington region.

The National Law Journal, noting the significant headcount of labor and employment lawyers in the office, based the distinction on some of the big wins the team scored in 2013. The publication highlighted the broad range of matters handled by Morgan Lewis labor and employment lawyers, from individual plaintiff employment cases to ERISA and wage and hour class actions, frequently with billions of dollars in the balance.

Washington, D.C. Office Managing Partner Grace Speights, who chairs the firm’s Systemic Employment Litigation Practice and co-chairs the firm's Diversity Committee, cited several keys to the team’s success: “We really strive to understand each client’s business and take a strategic approach to understanding the client’s ultimate goals. These elements foster the development of relationships with our clients where we are not just lawyers or litigators, but also trusted advisors.”
