Morgan Lewis Advises Evergy in Purchase of Persimmon Creek Wind Farm

NEW YORK, August 9, 2022: Morgan Lewis is representing Evergy Inc. in the purchase of Persimmon Creek Wind Farm, an operating 199-megawatt wind energy facility. Evergy will purchase Persimmon from a partnership between Scout Clean Energy and Elawan Energy for approximately $250 million.

Evergy, which serves 1.6 million customers in Kansas and Missouri, produces, transmits, and delivers reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy. Scout Clean Energy is a renewable energy developer and owner-operator headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, with more than 1,200 megawatts of operating assets. Elawan Energy is a global operator in the renewable energy industry with more than 1.1 gigawatts of wind, solar, and hydropower projects in operation and more than 11 gigawatts of renewable energy under development.

Morgan Lewis partners John Klauberg and Laura Neumeister Wright and associate Ashley Keenan are advising Evergy on the deal, along with partners Dan Skees, Paul Williams, Ella Foley Gannon, and Paul Gordon, and associates Pamela Wu and Lizbeth Sanchez.
