‘A Sense of Real Urgency’: UK Includes Green Taxonomy in Climate Finance Strategy, Global Banking Regulation Review

Partner William Yonge spoke to Global Banking Regulation Review about the UK government’s green taxonomy as part of its new green finance strategy. “The strategy conveys a sense of real urgency, foregrounding the sobering sentence ‘Britain has just 27 years to become a net zero economy effectively ending our contribution to climate change by 2050,’” said William.

He added: “The focus on transition both in terms of transition finance and transition disclosure is really impressive as it recognises that firms need to see their transitioning plans encouraged and supported by the system.”
