CENTURY CITY, June 8, 2023: Morgan Lewis will add a five-member labor team in Century City, led by Adam Abrahms, who most recently co-chaired the labor-management relations practice at Epstein Becker & Green and served on the firm’s Board of Directors. The California team will further bolster Morgan Lewis’s leading nationwide labor-management relations practice advising employers on strategic labor relations, collective bargaining and other complex labor negotiations, and matters related to union organizing.

“Employers rely on our elite labor and employment practice for sophisticated advice on addressing labor-management issues in a variety of workplaces, which Adam and the team offers in spades,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Clients facing the ever-changing workplace environments will benefit from our new colleagues’ strong advocacy and astute negotiation skills.”

Adam handles complex collective bargaining negotiations and counsels employers on matters related to union organizing, representation elections, and corporate campaigns. He also represents clients in unfair labor practice proceedings before the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and other federal and state agencies and in federal and state courts.

The full team includes of counsel Elizabeth Bright and associates Maria Arroyo, Neresa De Biasi, and Juan Larios, all resident in Century City. Elizabeth handles employment litigation and counseling for California employers. Maria, Neresa, and Juan respectively focus on employment litigation, labor negotiations, and administrative hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.

“Adam’s capable handling of complex situations, both at the negotiating table and in the courtroom, bolsters our strong labor-management relations team,” said Grace Speights, leader of the firm’s global labor and employment practice. “The team is a welcome strategic addition on the West Coast, bringing deep ties to the healthcare industry and its unique challenges.”

Morgan Lewis’s leading labor-management relations practice includes three former NLRB members and two former chairman, including John Ring, who rejoined the firm in January 2023, Philip Miscimarra, and Harry Johnson; and recent additions including Michael Mortensen in Dallas and Mark Stolzenburg in Chicago.
