LONDON, April 28, 2025: Elevating its global tax service offerings, Morgan Lewis welcomes partner Andrew Callaghan, who represents clients on the tax aspects of domestic and international corporate and finance transactions, as well as provides structuring and consultancy advice. Andrew arrives from Milbank and is resident in the firm’s London office.
"London is a hub for global transactions and investments, where tax considerations are increasingly pivotal—and Andrew’s broad tax experience enhances our ability to guide clients through these complex deals,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “With a proven track record in mergers and acquisitions, structured transactions, and fund matters, Andrew’s arrival creates strong synergy with our teams locally and globally.”
Andrew has a diverse client base that includes institutional investors, management teams, and portfolio companies.
“Andrew brings a collaborative, client-first approach that aligns well with our team,” said Bart Bassett, leader of the firm’s global tax practice. “His experience across a range of transaction types, particularly in the funds space, adds immediate value to our investment management team, especially on co-investment transactions.”
“Andrew’s command in tax issues across disciplines and his international perspective make him a strategic fit for our London transactional practices,” said London Office Managing Partner Nick Bolter. “His cross-border experience enhances the sophisticated tax support our clients rely on for complex matters.”
Andrew’s move to Morgan Lewis continues the firm’s expansion of its global tax capabilities, reflected in the arrival of tax partner Tamara Shepard in Boston and partner Marcus Schmidbauer in Paris, the latter who joined as part of a 54-lawyer, multi-practice team on January 1.
In the last year, Morgan Lewis has significantly expanded in London with the arrival of competition partner Paul Johnson; structured transactions partner Dasha Sobornova; intellectual property partner Tim Powell; a life sciences duo of IP partner Hiroshi Sheraton and M&A partner Luciana Griebel; and secondaries partner Ted Craig.
