DALLAS, November 21, 2022: Michael Mortensen, a seasoned labor-management relations and workplace law lawyer, has joined Morgan Lewis as a partner resident in Dallas. Mike, who arrives from Jackson Lewis, previously served as in-house labor and employment counsel and director of labor relations for large national corporations.

“Mike’s deep experience with labor-management issues, knowledge of developing effective employee relationships, and enthusiasm on behalf of clients make him a strong fit with our elite labor and employment practice,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Those navigating an increasingly complex environment between management and employees will find great value in Mike’s broad skill set.”

Mike advises employers facing union organizing, corporate campaigns, large-scale protests and demonstrations, and representation elections. He also develops and presents programs to promote positive employee relations and effective leadership and presents training seminars to all levels of management, human resources professionals, industry organizations, and professional associations on a variety of labor and employment topics. Throughout his career, Mike has dealt with collective bargaining, labor contract administration, grievances and arbitration hearings, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, among other matters.

“Coming to us with years of know-how in shaping employer-employee relationships, Mike will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said Grace Speights, leader of Morgan Lewis’s global labor and employment practice. “He is already well known to our labor/management relations team, who are excited to have a partner with a ‘home base’ in Texas to enhance its capabilities in the region.”

Mike’s arrival follows that of former NLRB field attorney Mark Stolzenburg, who joined Morgan Lewis earlier this year in Chicago, and employment litigation and counseling partner Jennifer Bullock, who rejoined earlier this year in Miami.
